Over the past decade wind energy has been the fastest growing source of renewable energy production worldwide. It is estimated that using current technology wind energy could supply in excess of 20% of the United States' current electricity needs yet less than 3% is supplied by wind energy today, despite representing 35% of all new generation capacity over the past four years.
