The transmission infrastructure in the United States has seen minimal investment over the past 30 years. Aging infrastructure combined with increasing electricity demand has placed a significant burden on the system which has created an immediate need for additional investment. This need is further compounded by the increased prevalence of renewable forms of power generation on the grid, which often are located at significant distances from the areas of greatest demand.

AltEnergy is interested in working with companies that are involved in the smart grid technology and transmission development industries including:

• Smart grid technology companies that are introducing new products and services which make the existing grid, generators and electricity users more efficient through the active management of distributed load (demand) and generation and storage (collectively supply) assets; and
• Transmission project developers.
